The recipe I am going to share is one of my Mom’s recipes, she was really a wonderful baker.  Her cookies were the best among many.  I love how the way these are so full of chocolate chips.  The only thing problem is that it needs time because the dough has to stay in the fridge for at least 8 hours or even overnight.

Ingredients:

1/4 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon salt1 cup unsalted butter, softened3/4 cup white sugar2 eggs2 teaspoons vanilla extract2 cups jumbo semisweet chocolate chips1 cup white chocolate chips1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts Add all ingredients to list

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • First, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Sift flour, baking soda and salt together in it and set it aside.
  • Take a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until the mixture is smooth. Beat in the eggs and then stir in the vanilla. Blend sifted ingredients to form a soft dough. Now add in the chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop the mixture by heaping teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake them for 8 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven, or until they are lightly golden. Then allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once I was craving cookies and I had an inventory of the ingredients in the kitchen but not brown sugar. Then I tried to make it without brown sugar. I tried this recipe because it doesn’t need brown sugar. When I tried the recipe then after mixing, incorporating, and folding the batter, I realized that the batter was light not only in colour but also in texture. When I try to form balls of dough, the batter seemed to be a bit sticky which are the drawbacks of adding no brown sugar.
